15 Patterns for $5.41

Is it wrong for me sharing this? Or is it even more wrong that I'm super excited about it. And yes, I was cheesy and took a picture of the receipt because I can't believe that I got all these patterns for $5.41 (ok, so counting tax and a $0.60 turtle puzzle for L.).

15 Patterns for $5.41

The day was a good day. A very good day. L. and I went out to lunch at my favorite restaurant with my Dad while K. was at school today. So, not only did I have great food, but I also had great company (which would've been better if K. could've made it but I don't think schools excuse lunch dates) but I decided to stop at one of my favorite thrift store (but never get up that way since we've moved). They always have patterns by the bag, which is also where I got these pretty numbers (with anywhere between 3-5 patterns in each bag, sometimes more) and so I went a searching and I kid you not, got 15 patterns (majority in L.'s size) for $5.41. I won't bombard you on here with all the pictures but instead you can check out the Flickr set I created (because yes, I am that cheesy). Oh, and the pattern photo up top, is my favorite one out of the whole bunch and sadly, I have no babes to fit into it.

So fun! I love the idea of the old patterns. These kind, especially, never really go out of style. I tried so hard to get my mom to keep all her old patterns... I kept telling her that all things old become new again. Sigh. She still managed to get rid of them all. Grr...

I love old patterns. Maybe because I find them cheap, or maybe because it's the whole giving something old a new life. I especially love the ones that I found because they are simple pieces that would look so adorable on my youngest daughter. Sadly though, I didn't find any in my oldest daughters size.

And yes, I'm with you, your Mom should've kept them.

Sweet deal! Living in Alaska there aren't too many really cool antiques like that. I love old patterns and esp the sketches on the covers. Have fun with your sewing! :)

I agree! The sketches on the children's patterns are so cute. Don't really like it so much on woman's patterns because they all look 6' tall and 50 lbs. (Considering I come in just shy of 5'3")
