Good gosh that was exhausting. I've moved to a whole new blogging place. Wordpress to be exact. Blogger and I just haven't been getting along lately, taking forever to upload, eating my pictures before I can post them, and being a real pain in the a**.So, my new blogging place is at http://multicrafty.wordpress.com. Same cheesy style, but with less of Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00643936839995608990noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5846827959997805385.post-72735289169084657902008-05-15T11:50:00.005-05:002008-05-15T12:13:05.801-05:00New Springy outfitfor L. (K.'s is on it's way, I made the elastic a smidge to big on her's so I have to go back and fix it then whip up a top for her.)My Mom gave me yards and yards of this ladybug fabric and I'm finally putting it to some good use. So far out of it I've made L. a dress and now this top, and still have 1 yard out of the one section and a few (probably 3 maybe 4 yds) out of the other section. The field trip was to Sippo Lake as part of a science learning experience for her school. So much fun and we couldn't ask for better weather. (It has been raining for a week now, yesterday was 70 and sunny and now we are back to rain until next Wednesday.)The best part of the whole day Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00643936839995608990noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5846827959997805385.post-45712426321906078772008-05-09T08:10:00.003-05:002008-05-09T08:47:58.286-05:00Happy Mother's Day!(left photo is of K. and I when she was 2, right photo is of me breastfeeding L.)And to think that I never wanted kids. Glad I didn't miss out. I've had tons of jobs, working at a movie theater (which meant coming home smelling like popcorn each night, yuk!), worked in mostly doctor offices, did X-rays, and was the bookkeeper for my Dad's company for 3 years. L. picked out the fabric for her dress and K. picked out which shirt she wanted re-done out of the "what can we make out of these" clothing pile that has accumulated in my craft room.L. had no choice however which shirt was going to be re-done. Her's was a plain white shirt that had a nice chocolate milk stain Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00643936839995608990noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5846827959997805385.post-36217408016753657402008-05-08T08:16:00.002-05:002008-05-08T08:36:23.640-05:00Just a few tutorialsWith Spring here and Summer right around the corner, I've really been in the mood to make the girls and I some new clothes. The infamous one that now during the day we have to leave the blind fully open so the girls can sit there and watch Mama Robin.Well, Mama Robin wasn't sitting on her nest this afternoon so I went over there and sure enough, two little baby robins were laying in there. To me, they actually look like aliens with beaks. Nothing that I really want to go into great detail about right now (and nothing serious) but just a mess. To help me get through it, I've been doing some spring cleaning of our wardrobe's (sshhhh! don't tell James but I took a pair of his fave corduroy's and am hoping I can turn them into a fun skirt for this fall) and seeing what exactly Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00643936839995608990noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5846827959997805385.post-19209647315886397662008-04-29T09:49:00.003-05:002008-04-29T10:24:15.534-05:00Jewelry makingIt has been a looooong time since I've done anything in jewelry making. In fact, I don't even think I've ever blogged about any of my jewelry making on here. Jewelry making has always been something of mine that I've always enjoyed. I can whip up a pair of earrings moments before having to head out the door, or spend a hour working on a simple bracelet. And just like sewing and knitting, Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00643936839995608990noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5846827959997805385.post-45546198299306689922008-04-25T23:38:00.004-05:002008-04-25T23:47:37.123-05:00The Excitement ContinuesAll the talk this week has been about Mama Robin and her eggs. Two more in fact have been layed in the nest. It's actually exciting on my part as well. We've all learned a thing or two this week about Mother Nature and her works. To continue our ongoing story of Mama Robin, she's been visiting the nest quite frequently and the girls just think it's so cute that she likes to keep her little Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00643936839995608990noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5846827959997805385.post-27082633178000418892008-04-24T06:51:00.004-05:002008-04-25T23:49:57.975-05:00Busy Lil' BeesThat's been us lately. Seems like once this gorgeous Spring weather hit us, we've been outside all the time now. Only to go in to get dinner prepared. I love it though. It feels good being outside and watching my girls at play.So I'll start with some big news that we've (around here) have been waiting for. A Mama Robin has been building her nest outside our bedroom window for weeks now and the Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00643936839995608990noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5846827959997805385.post-86977822758674711072008-04-18T22:52:00.003-05:002008-04-18T23:13:37.577-05:00My craft room - still a WIPOver the past few days (weeks actually) I've been slowly trying to clean out my craft room and get everything in there as organized as I possibly can. It's still no where near how I invision it but it's slowly getting there.I completely rearranged everything at least 3 times. And yet, ironically placed my sewing table right back where it was. There are only 2 outlets in the room and the other Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00643936839995608990noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5846827959997805385.post-78457245107552386112008-04-15T07:41:00.002-05:002008-04-15T07:55:29.091-05:00I love to Knit! Not that anyone around here at my house doesn't already know that about me. In fact, when James has his little "date day" with the girls, I always jokingly say "What am I going to do with a nice quiet house?" The girls always reply with, you can knit and watch Gilmore Girls.A while ago I came across this bag here from Karissa Cove XO. At first I just loved it because it said "I love to Knit".Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00643936839995608990noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5846827959997805385.post-15941756401797385932008-04-10T21:28:00.003-05:002008-04-11T09:03:45.217-05:00Off to Grandma's HouseFinally getting around to showing the "action photos" of K. in her Little Red Riding Hood costume. Blame Ohio snowy weather, flood season, tons of rain, and wet muddy soggy grass. Now, blue skies, dry land, and no more snow. Anyways, her play was this evening and I swear, it was the cutest little play I've ever seen. It was a very good time and K. did an excellent job.To make it even cuter, (the Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00643936839995608990noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5846827959997805385.post-26928961386061394012008-04-06T22:23:00.003-05:002008-04-06T22:45:41.079-05:00Birthday weekendWhat a busy, busy weekend it was. A very good weekend (but busy). K. turned 8!!!!!!!!!! My goodness how the time flies, and to get me even more emotional, she reminded me that in another 8 years she'll be old enough to drive. Eek! Friday she had one of her friends spend the night. Strangely how I forgot what a sleep over consist of. Or is it even more wrong that I'm super excited about it. And yes, I was cheesy and took a picture of the receipt because I can't believe that I got all these patterns for $5.41 (ok, so counting tax and a $0.60 turtle puzzle for L.). The day was a good day. A very good day. But the downside of that is that they usually end up getting stepped on, colored on, or cut up into confetti.Taking much inspiration from SouleMama's photo, I decided that it would be the Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00643936839995608990noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5846827959997805385.post-44512137959330738112008-03-28T10:14:00.003-05:002008-03-28T10:39:40.909-05:00Handmade with K.K. had gotten the book See and Sew by Tina Davis for Christmas. After much flipping through (and a little putting off on my part) we finally sat down yesterday and began her first real sewing project. I'm so proud of her!She decided that she wanted to make the Strawberry Pot Holder and so we grabbed out our supplies and got to work. I was just basically there to show her "how" to do everythingAngiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00643936839995608990noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5846827959997805385.post-27675160669370818582008-03-25T14:29:00.003-05:002008-04-01T07:34:46.210-05:00New jammies for L.Back around Christmas I went shopping at JoAnn's with my Mom and picked up Butterick 4910 to make the girls some pj's for the Spring. Finally yesterday I got started and finished up L.'s today. I had her pick out which pj's she wanted and she picked View D. I didn't like the long sleeves for some reason so I used the sleeves from View A. Anyways, she is quite happy with her new pj's and in fact, Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00643936839995608990noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5846827959997805385.post-70461977028592770482008-03-19T13:59:00.004-05:002008-03-19T14:51:49.140-05:00Thrifting WednesdayToday is a very rainy, cold, gloomy day. So to brighten up L.'s and I spirits, I thought that I would take us thrifting. She absolutely loves to go thrifting with me and is so cute browsing through everything trying to help me find something or rather.I got an apron that I'm actually using as a little curtain for the door in our kitchen. I love the look of it and the apron is in immaculate Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00643936839995608990noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5846827959997805385.post-7174169220798455382008-03-18T15:12:00.003-05:002008-03-18T15:23:21.925-05:00New Springtime PurseSince Spring isn't coming quite as quickly as I'd like it, I thought I'd bring Spring inside. What better way to bring Spring inside other than a new purse for the Spring.Fabric are both some that I had in my stash left over from other projects. The purse came from the very easy tutorial from Vintage Ric Rac. I modified it a bit by adding some d-rings for the strap and also adding a flap (Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00643936839995608990noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5846827959997805385.post-44323345038051419462008-03-18T08:00:00.003-05:002008-03-18T08:10:33.807-05:00New Skirt for L.Remember yesterday when I had posted about different tutorials I had found. Seems like I was inspired by my own inspiration. I was in the mood for something quick, easy, and could be done in time for me to prepare dinner.Browsing through the tutorials I had found, I knew that anything with a zipper was definetly out of the question so I decided to make L. the easy skirt pattern I had found via Angiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00643936839995608990noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5846827959997805385.post-65587456621288542842008-03-17T07:47:00.005-05:002008-03-17T08:33:44.756-05:00Happy St. Patrick's Day!Nothing crafty to show you on my end. The pattern and construction seemed easy enough that I knew I could figure it out (I've never made a doll before). So up to the craft room L. and I went. It's actually going to be a surprise for K. I actually finished it over this past (snowed in) weekend but with a dead camera battery, I'm just now getting around to taking pictures.Probably guessing what my project was. Well, K. is going to be in the Spring play at her school next month as Little Red Riding Hood.
